Many of our older men grew up doing cowboy work on stations. Even though they did this they still also practiced lore and culture.

They would leave the station and go off for men's business.

On the station they learned to be good horsemen, muster the cattle and look after the animals to keep them healthy. They camped out most of the time because the stations are really big and take a long time to move around on a horse.

When they left for lore and culture they would go to special sacred places, especially for initiation of younger men.

Some younger men still do horse mustering, but not so many as before because the stations are now using helicopter mustering and other newer ways of working the cattle.

Culture and lore is still followed by most men though.
