During the dry season there are fires - these are part of nature and the bush burns so that the ground is cleared and is ready for new growth. some seeds even need to be burned before they will grow.
Then the wet season comes and the land gets flooded and water flows in streams down into the dry river beds and water holes.
The land becomes bright and colourful with all kinds of wild flowers and it is also the best time for hunting and gathering bush foods.
