This painting talks about the colours of my country. I travel my country where my people have always been and watch the landscape changing through the season. 

I see the way the different kinds of trees and plants are part of tour country and I feel it in my heart, feel my ancestors that were once here and are still with us. 

I have been painting our country since I was a small child and love to look for places of meaning for me where the colours take my eye. These places are country for my people.

I am both Gija and Jaru and the country in this panting is Gija country out near Lake Argyle.

I look for places to paint where everything looks right - the placement of the trees, the colours and the right feel in my heart.
