This is Louisa Downs Station between Halls Creek and Fitzroy Crossing where I grew up and learned to be a drover and horseman.
I am painting the country at sunset when the colours are often very deep and strong and the day is nearly over. I have good memories of sunsets on the station - sitting around a campfire cooking up kangaroo, goanna, bush yam and emu eggs.
