After rain colourful flowers and bright green shoots push their way through  the claypans, rocks and sands of the Tanami. It starts to appear through the rocky earth and sands as the rain sets in.

The colours and reflections change throughout the seasons and the claypans and sands are always shifting and changing creating new colours, lines and marks.

The flowers go through many different shifting shades as they bud, bloom and then fade away.

Many different plants and flowers appear in traditional lore as symbols of spiritual protection and cleansing of the land
