This is Louisa Downs Station between Halls Creek and Fitzroy Crossing where I grew up and learned to be a drover and horseman.
I am painting the country at sunrise when the colours are often very deep and strong and the day is just beginning.
This is when we like to be up and about gathering bush tucker in the cool morning. There are wild passionfruit growing all around the waterholes, beneath the ground are bush yam or potatoes and growing around the trees are bush tomatoes and wild coconut bushes
