In the old days people travelled through the river, sometimes across the plain. They would drink water from the waterholes. They would travel a long way on foot, looking for animal tracks around waterholes and gathering bush foods in coolamon that they carved or made from paperbark.
In this painting I am thinking about the fruit and vegetables that we gather - bush potatoes, bush banana and bush tomato.
